I like the sound of the WM8740 dac in the CXA60, so I don't really want to invest in an extra dac. Initially I wanted to run my laptop's sound through the Hifiberry Dac+ DSP on my RPi, but that appears to be a no-go. WebAssembling the hifiberry amp2 actually took more time. The interface of volumio is not as slick as sonos and missing some functionalities. Adding songs to end of playlist, search function does not work very well, cannot make gapless playback work. It has some weird quirks as well, for instance time of songs played resets after changing volume.

People and reviewers compare the Hifi berry DAC+ HD to match the Allo Boss. It would be nice to see a proper review of the new DAC2 HD though.
