As Piggy said, you need to give a sharp pull down from the front (ie sunglasses end). I found it easier to pop the sunglass holder open and use it for grip. If I push up on it a little it stops. Also seems like the holder hangs down slightly. Doesn't seem to be any adjustments but there is a black clip that appears to hold the holder when its closed.
